Vantage Point

"I... Hate.... Everything about you..." The music wasn't blaring from the radio, really. It was loud, but we could still hear each other over it. The car was moving quickly, but we were young and we could keep up.

It was hot and humid outside. Inside that car though, it was cold. We were unaffected by the weather or anything else. I grabbed another Cookie Dough Bite and popped it into my mouth.

Our exit was coming up. I put the blinker on, and checked my mirrors.

She turned to check her blind spot. I laughed at something someone said. It was funny, I'm sure...

The car began to move into the right lane. I saw a car so close I could touch it.

We were too close to that car.

Panic rushed at me, taking my body as a temporary prisoner of those brush-with-death experiences. We felt our bodies object as the car lurched back to the left.

Car Crash Kills All Involved... more on C-6

My life didn't flash before my eyes. Isn't that supposed to happen?

The car was back in the left lane. I wasn't breathing.

I was alive.

"I... Hate... Ever-"

I turned off the radio.

Idle Hands...

p(re).s. I like the new layout....

I needed air, but breathing seemed like so much effort. Everything felt heavy, weighed down.

Don't let go...

She isn't going to make it...

Get me an OR yesterday people!! I need some room!

All clear!

The voltage hit hard, but not hard enough.

The light was there, but I was too weak to walk towards it.

I fell for a while.

Longer than you might think.

Almost two years.

Now I'm here.

In hell.

Because heaven seemed like to much work.

some innovation, please!

'ello all...how are you this fine tuesday afternoon?
i am writing this new post because i am in need of some inspiration...
as those of you who are familiar with me will know, i can usually be seen upon many of my frequent outings sporting a large green bag...Nelson, i call him...
until recently, on the front-most side of nelson's strap was sewn the socratesian saying "know thyself"
however, in recent weeks, nelson and i both tired of this particular remark, and agreed upon its removal from nelson aforementioned strap
now, though, nelson has been stressing his inherent feeling of nakedness for quite some time since the loss of this adornment, and we are both in the state of mind that something needs to be done...in short, we are looking for a new witty or clever remark to be sewn upon his person....
we would be much obliged if any of you could provide a short, 2-or-3 word slogan, saying, quote, or other collection of words to fit our need, as we have not been able to agree upon any ourselves...

we thank you for your assistance...cheerio!

And the lightbulb over my head turns on...

IDEA!

So, I don't know about you all, but my summer has consisted of, mostly, work, reading, writing, surfing the web, excercizing, and swimming... with little social interaction...

What if we were to do one of those good ole beatnik things and went to a coffee house (or other place of preference) and bring along our current favorite piece of literature, whether it be our own or another's, and read it or discuss it or what have you, and finally get to know each other as
human beings rather than words on a page, though it is fun. We could even snap fingers after a reading if you truly wish to haha.

Let me know what you think... you can also reach me by email: liljazzgig@comcast.net or through facebook or myspace... just search Grace Eitzenberger.

i'm baaaaaaaaack...

hey kids...

sorry i haven't written in a while...

i was away on vacation...

in the mountains of georgia...

it was pretty cool for the most part:

kayaking, mountain climbing, horseback riding, and the like...

however, i like it here much better...when i first moved to jax i didn't think there could be any place in the world more infested with the stereotypical "southerner" (or "redneck" as they generally are referred to as, but you know me, politically correct as i am...)

i was wrong...

lumpkin county (yes, that's right...lumpkin...) definitely has us beat...

they may scorn us for having "a whole helluva lot of sand wit no gold in it" and "not a hill to speak of", but i most definitely like it here, myself...

its nice to be back...

i missed you guys...

VACATION!

I'm out of here until the 26th. If I've got access to a computer, I'll check up and say hey to you crazy peeps. Don't this our little creation die while I'm away :]

And if someone could PLEASE re-instate my admin rights, I'd be most pleased.

feedback please!!!

i dont know if i like it so far... i like the story line, whic i cant tell you eyt, but i dont know if i like the start.
it really has nothing to do with religion, i'm not even catholic, but it is part of the story line. the main character will end up falling in love, which hes not supposed to, and will have to make a choice.

.....

Isaac was a devout Catholic who loved his Faith and thanked God for each sunrise he saw and every breath he took. He had been studying at Saint Peter and Paul Seminary for some time and was one year from being ordained. That Friday, after morning Mass, his spiritual Father and closest friend, Father Basil, told Isaac that he had been praying about him and he felt he should go to Albania as a missionary and spread God's word through helping those in need. That night, Father Basil and Isaac discussed the idea and prayed about it, knowing God's will would be done.

In the following week, they both continued to pray and also asked the others at the seminary to do so. The next Sunday, when Mass finished, Isaac went to the alter to find Father Basil. "I'm doing it," he said over the alter, "I've prayed about it--we've all prayed about it--and I know in my heart that I am to go to Albania." Father Basil looked up from what he was doing, "I thought you might." He said, folding the last of his vestments, "Come, we have much to do."

After a month of planning, Isaac was ready.

.....

thats all i got so far.

Oops

I kinda sorta accidentally took myself off of the admin slot for the blog...so if someone would be kind enough to go to the dashboard area, click on settings, click on permissions, and click on the little thing next to my name to make me an admin instead of a guest, it'd be greatly appreciated. I can hardly do anything now!! *tear*

Hope everyone is having a terrific summer.

Peace, love, and....and.....

Um....

And......

Hypothetically expanding universal interval arrangements.

Peace, love, and THAT.

If you are what you eat...

If you are what you eat, then I am a turkey sandwich made with defrosted bread from the heathfood store, some mayonaisse thats been expired for two weeks, cheese sliced thin from the publix deli, and some turkey that is also about to go bad. which, coincidentally, did two days later.

What are you?

Work in progress

Hello all, sorry it took so long for me to join. Anyways, I've been working on a short story. I'll post it when its done. It may be awhile so I'll post blurbs here and there. I'm so glad we all are continuing past what Ms. O gave us. All my thanks goes to her for allowing our voices to be heard and giving way for a great start to what I hope will be a lasting group or creative writers. And thanks to Chase (who I still have never met... I believe there are a few people I only know through their imagination) for putting this whole thing up!!!

=)

Peace.

~W.S.

Musaq?

I think we need a music player or something on here...I'm pretty sure blogger has those as options, and if nothing else we could get one of those project playlist things going.

Just a thought, if anyone is interested in working with moosiq?

OH! This way, we could add music to it as we see fit, kinda like how Beast likes to show the song that "influenced" the work or whathaveyou. HMMMMMMMM

Story, New

I'm FINALLY putting to text a story I had in my head for a looooooong time. I'd actually written out part of it on paper, most of which I've already typed up. I don't particularly like the corner I had written myself into, however, so I'm going to try and change things up in this hip, new incarnation.

We'll see.

This isn't going to be in parts, really....just whenever I feel like stopping, I'm going to stop; I'll try and keep each little part making sense--there won't be any of

Get me?

Ok. So check it out, if'n you wanna. Comments are nice. And remember, this is a work in progress...there will be revisions, I am sure, and I'll keep you updated on them. Hopefully I won't have to do a huuuuge overhaul, but it's happened before....

Peace, love, and massive bereavements.

(Yes, I finally ended with our little sig. Beast would be proud.)
